Sup Mega, Thanks man! I won't be doing any plastidipping. It looks ok just not for me. The rear chrome piece I would like to do in carbon fiber or same color as the body, and the side strips on the bottom of the doors I am debating on taking those off and possibly putting only the grand cherokee letters like the new SRT-8's. The chrome around the windows will stay as that would be a mess for them to professionally paint.

Re: My girl shaved laying on the beach

How did the G.C. do in the sand? Just got my 2012 and am going to Ocracoke in 2 weeks to ride the beach. Had no problems with my 06 Liberty there a couple of years ago, but haven't been off road in the GC yet.

She did great compared to my 94 wrangler, I put her in sand mode and 4x4 low, she crawled right through it without a hiccup.

The thread title is definitely misleading, but you may not have check out out the cool pics if something didn't get your attention. I wouldn't say its lame, LOL

Great shots. I would say that IS off roading. BTW real Jeeps don't have square headlights, but cool despite that.

Thanks for the pics complement. Low blow on the square headlight comment, you bite your tongue. The great thing about most JG members is that almost everyone is cool. Whether it be topics about cars or life in general.

I was 17 years old the year was 1998 I was in HS, I knew one thing I had to get a jeep and paying for my 200+ car insurance plus a car payment in high school was not feasible. I wasn't one of those kids that had Bank of DAD to get them everything. So a 97-98 tj was out of the question and I couldn't find a nice cj at the time. So I worked, saved up a REAL 8k and bought a REAL jeep. I will admit I love the look of the round headlights, and maybe one day I will convert the front grille to a cj or tj so that I would have the round headlight look although if I do that some may say it would be a fake jeep.

Also some jeep people would say that Grand Cherokee's are not "real" Jeeps, thats not my opinion just saying. Now that I have one (cherokee) , and I am a huge jg.com fan and have seen what these guys do to their cherokee's and other jeeps I would say that any jeep that bears the name is in.

Hey man. Take a pill. I said the CJ was still cool despite the headlight error. Are we still friends?

Re: My girl shaved laying on the beach

Actually the real Jeep and square headlight line was the mantra among the Jeep community right after they came out with the vehicle for sale. Some think the mantra was the reason they went back to round headlights noting that our Jeep's grandfathers had round headlights in 1941.

BTW feel free to poke fun at my first vehicle which I bought while in college: third hand, 7 year old International Scout with 3 speed non-synchromesh transmission and 7 leaf springs per wheel!

I'm glad you know the history behind the square headlights, I pegged you as a non educated jeep guy with a fancy WK2 that likes to start threads about rear floor mat installs. My bad.

I totally dig old vehicles and would love to see the scout. When you say 3 speed I think about some of my buddies old trucks that had the stick on the steering wheel.
