From long armed WJ's to this in a few years, huh. I love my WK2 and think I lucked out with an early build Laredo with some decent content. I'm very happy overall but to me my WK2 is more transport than wheelers, I limit my mods to wax and tire choices..my warranty is almost up and I'll be lifting with OME soon but it's for ride quality more than wheeling.. I'm jealous of all the bad azz modded ones on here. Until now, now it's gotten real for my WK2.

First survey the area to be wrenched on

Next prepare the hardware to be installed

Use special tools to align apparatus, eyeballs

Follow up with a light but firm "click"

It was very important for me not to do any further heavy lifting the same day, as this was very involved and a major effort. At my age I say no to "heavy lifting" please be cautious I ended up passing out in the back seat after the install.

They where $5 and do not solve any problems or do much at all. I normally do not cover anything up. These just seemed goofy and clean, I'm not sure about their long term effect or any possible downside, I'll pull them to check in a bit. They are cheap but accurately made trinkets.

I saw similar ones on eBay...not bad at all, I think I'll give these a try! The "Jeep" grill logo on those would match the logo on my rear S.S. license plate frame.

I'm not too worried about the extensive install effort since my right hand can crush Volkswagens from all that time I spent on "adult" internet sites. Were any lubricates involved installing these? If so, I've got that covered too.

:D

You guys made my day! I was laughing pretty hard for how amused and satisfied I was with these. No joke I'm so out of practice on genuine mods my next round is gonna break me, f/r light bar, hooks, srt bars, lift, hd brakes, lock pick, etc. I think my tools have dust on them.

As for prep, I'm a detailer so I cleaned and sealed the area well, I used 22ple, just because, but any wax or sealer will do. 10 coats, or just wipe and install

Be careful people the shear weight of these things had me complaining to my girl, and now I'm not getting any "dinner" because just for making the joke, I'm a "bitch" her words. I always forget who the funny one is.

eBay has them in a couple varieties.

Hmmm, not sure I can follow this just based on those few pictures, can you please upload a video.

My GC is Granite Chrystal, would this still work, or is this procedure only for White GCs?

I've had this jeep for a long time, and the WK2 is great transportation, that's all. But my warranty is almost up. Just like my technique for fishing I suit my tackle to my battles, I can put 30# line on an expensive bass reel, it doesn't make it suitable for 150# tarpon in Costa Rica. I love the way people are doing them up, I just don't like body damage or mud on my minivan. I have better suited tackle.
Almost anything a lifted wk2 on 32's can do a stock one can, my mods like most on these jeeps are purely for fun. So next is lighting, lifting, and big brakes, but only because I can't turn it into an SRT, perfect tackle for Florida. Stay tuned though, I've got a particularly large sticker that is going to require my shop assistant to install. You guys are awesome, I promise a less useless mod soon, maybe neon undercar? Joke

Look I don't want to spend a lot of money on this mod
and then it doesn't work on my Summit. Oh since i have
a Summit does it come in chrome to match all of the
chrome already on it? Will install void my warranty if
I try to do it myself or do I have to let the dealer do it?

Door lock protective cover mod provides 20% ROI

At first I thought this mod was a waste of $ (so did my wife). However, I looked at the ugly door latch plate every time I entered the Jeep and decided it had to be done. Ordered Ebay 4pcs Vehicle Door Safety Lock Protective Striker Cover for Jeep Grand Cherokee G | eBay on Sept. 5th, received today, painted to match and snapped them on my 2014 granite Summit - see attached photo.

ROI: Cost with shipping was $15.99, weight for all 4 is 0.6 z, 2014 Summit weighs o/a 5636lb with driver, weight increased by 0.000006653%, extra fuel cost over 36,000 miles ($4.00 gal @ 22 mpg) could be 4.3 cents. If purchased and installed by dealer, assuming similar cost as pin-striping ($125) and similar added value at resale as pin-striping (33%?), added value at trade in could be $41.25. With cost of $15.99 + 4.3 cents for gas and about 0.7 cents for extra tire wear, total cost of $16.04 invested for 3 years with return of $41.25 would be equivalent to return on investment of 20% per year. I can now show wife that this was not a foolish mod, it is smart investment. Calculations subject to audit.

See photos below for covers prior to painting, door latch prior to installing cover, and after snapping on cover. Time to install all 4 was about 1 minute. Many thanks for sharing this mod with the Jeep world.
