Re: My mods

Nice work Al. I did the same thing and added gloss black vinyl on all the exposed chrome. I think it looks a lot better now than before. I was able to pry off my chrome handles after I removed the little star screw. Since I did that, I was able to access the chrome button and put vinyl on that as well. I also added a few extra pieces of 3M tape to the inside of the covers for piece of mind.

Ohh and where did you pick up that little Jeep decal near your radio? I like it. Since you have it, I need one now.

Thanks, yeah definitely looks better with as little chrome showing. i dont mind the lil chrome button. I'm liking the look of the black handles on my mineral gray, goes well with the other black accents.

Looking good - thanks for the pics of the install process. Going to try the same this week-end I think and see how I like the look.

Think the 3M tape will hold up come rain/wash time?

I think so, seems like it its pretty strong tape. Hopefully no pieces go flying off one day haha

I did not use the adhesive promoter. I just wiped down the handles with alcohol, set them in place and pressed pretty hard on them.

Re: My mods

So i decided to change the vinyl on my trim to black brushed metallic.

Could only do these 3 pieces for now. Have to order more vinyl.

Re: My mods

I am going to have to buy stock in the vinyl business the way you buy it. Nice work. I did the brushed black vinyl on my dash late last year. By now I bet you can disassemble a Grand Cherokee interior in under 10 minutes.

lol yeah it's pretty easy now. I actually left off 2 or 3 screws from the first time I did it, in the event I needed to redo it or wanted to change it up haha.

Next I'm going to order a roll of black satin to redo the window trim. I like the gloss but not crazy about it.
