Thanks.

I followed this guys thread... I bought the weather proof led strip from amazon.

LED Approach/Entry/Puddle Lighting Mod write-up!!!

The hook up is fairly simple. Just a little time consuming. Once you do one side, the other side is quicker.

But I would say the tricky part is to get them to stick under the cab. I went to the car wash and sprayed purple stuff under there, the used the brush to brush off whatever i could then power rinsed it. Took it home and wiped the area underneath with alcohol (where the strips will go) BUT the stuff just did not stick good. They started coming off a few hours later. So what I did was place magnets over the strips and they're good now. I would need to take pics of where I placed mine and how I put the magnets.

Jeep looks great! Wanted to ask how did you put the grill on? Did you have to take the entire bumper off?

Re: My mods

So I redid my courtesy lights under the jeep. I bought some heavy duty led lights. I also bought a couple of 4 ft long L shape brackets to bolt them to where the step tubes bolt up to. Drilled some holes to the L brackets and zip tied the led strips on there. Great fit and I like the look better than before.

New strips

covered the wires in heat shrink tubes and then put about 15" of this mesh slip for added protection.

at the gas station

new ones

the ones i replaced

Re: My mods

the led underneath is awesome, confused about what you mean with the 4 ft bracket? did you mount it underneath similarly to how side steps/rockers would be mounted and then zip tie the led strip on to it?

Yeah i found an aluminum "L" bracket (well not really bracket) at my local hardware store. I just used it as a bracket. I drilled some holes to bolt it underneath where the tube steps would be bolted to.

Also drilled 4 holes to the L bracket to zip tie the led strip to it.

sorry i just forgot to take pics of the bracket and installed lol
