Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

On the Bi-Xenon headlights that come on all 2011/'12/'13 Limiteds/Overlands/Summits, the DRL is the inner most light, closest to the grille. The low beam and also the high beam is only the outermost region of the headlights (nearest the fender).

Ooh, I see. There's no way to get the DRLs to work then?

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Well I am working on mating an aftermarket DRL harness and some plugs for those who really want DRL's but most people who have DRL's are usually trying to disable them.

The biggest reason to disble DRL's it fuel consumption.
The next reason is bulb life.
The third reason is to save the headlight lenses. The more heat on the lense makes road grime bake on the lenses easier.

But if I had a blacked out Altitude I would not mind having DRL's

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Any write ups on removing the bumper and doing this install? I am also interested in changing out the lights on my altitude for the srt projectors!

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Is there a "list" to sign up in order to get this harness? I converted my Laredo to Altitude, everything but the headlights.

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Do the OEM HID's need to be calibrated or do they auto adjust on their own? I notice when I first turn on my Jeep they're pointed kinda high and after a second the beam shift's down on it's own.

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Jeep_addicted awesome work. I have a little predicament and need some help. I have a 2011 limited with bi xenons. My drivers side turn signal lens cover broke off and melted. When the bulb finally burned out I found out that the internals of the turn signal bulb were broken and it cannot be removed (due to an accident on the other side of the vehicle when I first got it). Dealer solution was new complete housing and install for $1200. I freaked out lol.

I have been looking on eBay and justforjeeps.com at hid housings...or halogen housings and putting my bi xenon setup in them since they still work. Any suggestions? I'm trying to do this as reasonably low cost while not sacrificing quality.

I found a guide for getting to the housing on wk2jeeps...doesn't look too difficult. I just want everything to work in the end :-/

Re: My new OEM bixenon headlights

Hey jeep_addicted, if I have a regular 2012 ladero would I still be able to purchase your harness and be able to install the str8 black bi-xenon headlights pretty much plug n play?
