I will be taking it there next time, as the valley is just too far and too damn hot for this beach bum. OK, here are a few more pics showing the side a bit better [ all stock parts ]

peace!

That looks awesome man....loving the look. Are those stock tire sizes? I would definitely recommend blacking out the grill mesh for contrast.

Re: My2011 overland project

Looks nice, think you might need some more black though.. looks a bit uneven color wise.. paint the bezels of the headlights black? tint tail lights?

On another note.. I think you need to get rid of that ugly wood.. doesn't seem to match the babies exterior

Re: My2011 overland project

I would just do a black grille all together, looks too monotone now.

Thanks man! I had never thought about getting the grille insert color matched until I saw yours. Kinda wish I would have done that with my black grille inserts.

BTW I would due a light tint on your tails and leave the backup part white.

Kinda like this. It looks really clean on lighter color GC's. I have also seen Scott color match the tail lights. I would think about doing the bottom 2 tails white the top 3rd brake light white and the 2/4 large brake lights like the ones below. I believe that I have seen a silver Wk with a tinted silver 3rd brake light.

The guy that did my grille also did a white GC looks yours in white he also did the headlight bezels. What do you think?

I made a thread of it back in march, it was the first color matched grille that I had ever seen. I saw this one and I was like damn I have to make mine black.

I read a members post about putting more black on your ride. I think that it looks good the way it is vs. more black. Once the SRT WK2 parts come out, you could do a carbon fiber interior instead of the wood finish. Not sure what you would do about the steering wheel..

Great offer here, someone should jump on this:

1) Scott does great work
2) New OEM product before paint
3) Avoid having to wait during interim for yours to get redone
4) Helps selling and buying JG member out by keeping it in familia
5) Everyone deserves tinted tails

Re: My2011 overland project

^Anytime Medichic. BTW, you shouldn't give up completely on the tinted tails either. What color is your WK2?

The darker tints definitely look more aggressive and may not be to everyone's liking. I did a medium dark tint that comes out more like Cherry Coke and is a bit more tame. Given the OP's white with black WK2, I'd say the dark tints would look killer on his particular rig. YMMV.

Regardless, IMO any tint is better than the big red stop signs we all have on the WK2.

Re: My2011 overland project

How about a white tint on the lamps that are on the hatch and then a medium black tint on the tails themselves?
