New 2011 Laredo X

Hi just signed up. I got a black 2011 Laredo X, no nav/sunroof, a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to modding it a bit. I's like to upgrade the headlights and get the chrome change to matte black. Any help would be appreciated

Check out allmoparparts.com that have a lot of good stuff.. I have a 2013 Laredo that's 80% an altitude from my own mods! What are you looking to do specifically? I can give you my input!

Thanks! I'd like to:

- change as many chrome trim elements to black, preferably matte, as I can (front grill, rear lift gate plate, the side rails on the doors, the window trim). I don't know how much of that is possible beyond the grill and lift gate plate (I'm sure it's not called that but w.e)
- add halos to the headlights. Ideally, I'd like to get a look like the '14 head lights with a paper clip style LED instead of halos. I haven't seen anyone modding like that though. So I'd be happy enough with halos.
- possibly upgrade to hid headlights, might just get Sylvania silverstars though. I kind of just want the white light and don't know that upgrading to hids is worth it for just that look. I'm not THAT concerned about maximum illumination, I live in a major metropolitan area (NY) so I'm not so worried about lighting up dark country roads. Also, I want the highbeams to match.
- rear fog lights (LED possibly)
- led front fog lights
- upgrade tail lights to LEDs
- interior ambient lighting in foot wells
- larger wheels. I think I have 17" wheels from the factory. I'd like them bigger, not sure how big I can go. Also, matte black.
- lift kit
- I'm not terribly interested in performance mods but would love to hear about any good ones you would suggest

Well I did all my emblems and side trim in plastidip.. Check out dipyourcar.com or do a YouTube search.. Stuff is amazing and it's held up great for months.. You can just spray a square over emblems and the whole section outer and inner sections just peel off! Holds up great in car washes and ect.. Head light mods are how much effort you put in.. I have considered switching to HID and they are pretty reasonable priced on eBay now a days. I bought a altitude grill and rear trim because that's the look I wanted.. I have a grey WK2 so keep in mind if yours is black or brilliant black they sell grills for gloss and brilliant black.. The only performance mod I did was the 3.6 mopar cold air filter and I love it.. It really brings the engine to life.. PM me or post more questions.. I have had my car for a year and I love it.. I keep finding stuff to do as most of us on here have to make out Jeeps unique!

Re: New 2011 Laredo X

I have an 11 X and have done most of the blacking out you mentioned. Best bet is to pull off the grill and rear and take them in to get painted, or whatever you have planned. For the roof rails and window trim, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to accomplish that is to take the beast in to get those parts wrapped, and I will do that this spring. You can pull the side trim off easily enough, and I've seen black hood emblems but they were gloss black, so I left it on mine as is.

Here's a few pics of mine:
This Jeep has no name

PS-The lift I took to a shop, didn't want to mess with it and alignment, etc.

Re: New 2011 Laredo X

I suggest you get the altitude grill and rear brow. The difference between plastidip and quality paint is like day and night (from my own experience).

The altitude pieces don't come in a flat black so painting/plasti-dip are the only options for that look. I'm thinking I'll get them painted though because the grill at least is going to take a beating.
