New Grill Time!!!

I received my new grill and I'm ready to install. The question is, do I really need a rivet gun? Is there anyway around this?

Re: New Grill Time!!!

I guess I'm not understanding why you would need a rivet gun for this.As far as I remember, the grill screws in with 10mm bolts and clicks into place with clips.

Re: New Grill Time!!!

I donít know if you need a rivet gun or not but when I replaced my fog lights I bought one so that I could replace the factory rivets in the fender well and return it to its original condition. Will I ever use it againÖprobably not.

I guess the question is why donít you want to purchase the rivet gun? Fairly inexpensive item on Amazon.

Re: New Grill Time!!!

ah. I see. I just bought a bunch of reusable nylon rivets, rather than replace the single use factory ones.

Re: New Grill Time!!!

You can use screws and clip nuts instead.

Otherwise you'll be picking up the hand riveter tool.

If you have three part # you find the plastic rivets on ebay for 25 each for like 5 dollars shipped

I don't have an issue buying the rivet gun...but I hate buying things I never use again. If nylon rivets work, I would rather use those

Re: New Grill Time!!!

I just put splash guards on our Summit, using the the plastic rivet tool. I would use the rivet that fits the tightest, not to force it. Tool works great! I would check Mopar parts for the size of the rivets.
