It doesn't matter what you think when you pass "your" vehicle because "you" will be biased. What matters is when you have 3 oncoming vehicles and one of them has HID's just thrown in their "Non-HID" headlight housings... Trust me... You will know who it is when you are squinting your eyes trying to see where you are going.
I drive for a living so I think I would know.

I didn't know people who "drive" for a living also know all about DOT standards... Don't act like you are a SME on everything about vehicles especially when you use your own "judgement" for what you consider safe or not instead of referring to the correct governing agency. These HID kits are still fairly new, but give it time and you will see some type of ban on them. Just trying to help you from doing something illegal.

Your attitude reminds me of a chick I know. She bought a used car last year in Alabama which had window tint installed on the windshield by the previous owner. This is illegal unless you have an eye prescription on your person from the doctor stating that your eyes are too sensitive to light. Soon after she bought it, she was pulled over by the police for the tint on the windshield. She proceeded to argue with the officer that anything done to the vehicle was done when it was built in the factory so the tint must have been installed at the factory... She told the officer that she wasn't signing the ticket because he was wrong and she was right. She truly believed that she was right.

I couldn't believe how ignorant she was. A little research goes a long way my friend. If you would just Google "hid illegal", you would see that there are so many people upset with these new cheap PnP kits. You will also see that you are among the so called "assholes" that many of these people are referring to by using these kits. Yet you show your personality very clearly by stubbornly choosing to be this "asshole".

Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

hey Mike!

just wanna say that you should do some research on how to retrofit hids projectors on your GC... people are right when they say your gonna blind them with hids in reflector and i personally think that it looks "ricey".

+ i think it's relatively easy and a super cool project to do!

there's a start :http://www.jeepgarage.org/f176/hid-p...avy-40433.html

Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

i had 55w HID kits and i will say..they are HELLA bright. As for glare, it was HORRIBLE in the WK, i had to aim them down quite a bit. Idk if it's due to the bigger housing in the wk, maybe it's better with the wk2. I now have OEM projectors.

Yea it's illegal, but so are tints and HID kits

Lighten up. It's all opinions here man. #1 rule of forums is to not take things personal. But if you have more than enough people saying the same thing, you might want to rethink a few things though.

Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

Its a discussion guys dont take it personal. I will say I have the 35 watt kit in mine with the stock housing . I also turned the adjustment down a bit , The only time I have been flashed by any driver is when driving in a dense fog.

I have a friend that has 55 watt kit in his and it is blinding

If I had the time I would. I want the limited housing but it'll have to wait.
