Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

here is a pic. Like i said I think it would look better on a square headlight such as the wk2's . It doesnt have to be the vinyl either , If you have a sand plaster you can mask off the lower section of the light( at the cut off) and lightly sandblast the upper section to give it the frosted look.

If you are really good You could even incorporate a design ( flames ,etc) into the vinyl or sandblasted area .

In the pic the vinyl has some wrinkles because ,I could find my heat gun at the time to heat up the vinyl a bit and stretch it tight .

Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

In the end, you made your headlights look like crap and now your lights are lower, thus giving you less "throw". This entire thing is perplexing me.

like I said ... it was a test . I removed the decal material and plan to see what they are like.

There is a way to do it though

you could use any color of vinyl , this is just what I had available at the time or you could also take and make " shields" around the top of the light ... I havnt tryed this yet and probably will not but its still a Idea.

anything that can be used to cut down the glare , maybe , lightly coating the reflector with a black paint would work as well.

Re: New Hid kit 6k 55w

This is one of the most overly beaten to death topics on auto forums to date. Nonetheless, looks good OP I'll putting some in this weekend. I had a set of philips ballasts/bulbs in my Wk (halogen) for 2 years and it was lifted 2 inches... aimed them down, had great output and not one person flashed me the entire time I had the car... weird.

You're right. It's called the right way with a projector, not trying to ghetto rig it.

At least you're going down the right way now.
