Re: New OEM 2015 SRT LED fog lights installed in High Altitude. Pictures and install!

Maybe a dumb question but does the SRT housing come with the h11 bulbs? If not, which bulbs are suggested?

I just purchased a '15 GC limited no Lux II package so just the basic non-hid lights. looking into hid/led options for my headlights and fogs but want something good and reliable. The SRT fog swap looks like a great option.

What do people suggest for the headlights to match the fogs? I don't want to change the headlight housing just an HID bulb kit. Thanks

Hi,

You would need to get an H11 HID kit in order to upgrade an H11 halogen housing to HID.

Yes, the housing comes with bulbs. It's all one integrated unit.

Thank you I kind of figured that but wanted to make sure. I'm most likely going with Xenon Depot's H11 HID Kit for the headlights. Will the 5000K option match the SRT LED fogs the best?

Unfortunately I can't really answer that for you right now. I ended up getting some 6K bulbs for my headlights but everything was just installed this weekend so I haven't had a chance to really do a good comparison. Probably going to head out of the city this weekend so will have a chance to give them a good look then.

However, lot of pictures in this thread and Petey's thread I also did SRT fog lights.. wow. Pics inside Seems like somewhere between 5-6K is a decent match and you're only going to notice a difference if you're really looking for it.

It depends... I had the phillips extreme 5k hid and they looked yellow compared to the srt fogs... i changed to the phillips 6k and they do match better, but seem to be whiter than the fogs
some have said the sylvania cool blue is a good match, but I have not tried them. The issue I had with 5k... the srt fogs over powered them making my eyes focus at them rather than down the road (very helpful at highway speeds)... the 6k cleared that up

Re: New OEM 2015 SRT LED fog lights installed in High Altitude. Pictures and install!

Hi,
And sorry for advance for the maybe silly question...I'm confused..

This part FOG LAMP ASSY | Genuine Mopar | 68228884AC is the SRT fog light ?..and if so I believe it comes with the bulb light correct ?..

I ordered from Xenon Depot some bulbs to replace fog and headlights, but I have a friend who also has a GC so maybe I can sell the bulbs for the fog lights and I can then buy the SRT fog lights for me, does it make sense ?..

I read the whole thread but ended up confused !..sorry !..any help will be appreciated.
Thanks and regards

Re: New OEM 2015 SRT LED fog lights installed in High Altitude. Pictures and install!

Are there any other reliable options instead of doing the SRT LED's? The SRT's are pricey but feel like they would be the most reliable. I would hate having to keep ripping off my bumper for faulty bulbs but if anyone has had any other positive experiences with other LED bulbs or HID kits I would like to hear it.

Also the same question goes for low beam HID kits. Seems like all these kits are hit or miss. Nothing really that reliable.

^^^ well first off why would you remove your bumper to install fog lights? Definitely don't do that, just reach in from the wheel well. It's super easy to access.

Oh I just assumed you need to pull the bumper off for enough working room to install the lights and mount the anti-flicker modules. I had to do that on my old car to install hid kits for the headlights and fog lights but it wasn't a jeep.
