New OEM 2015 SRT LED fog lights installed in High Altitude. Pictures and inst...

I had my bumper off my '14 and '15 atleast 6 times, between swapping grille mesh, HID's, LED's, etc...

The factory rivets are one time use and need to be replaced. I bought rivets from clips & fastners that are an exact match to the OEM rivets.

Clearly you don't know what your talking about. The factory uses one time use rivets.

And yes, Skunk'd has had his bumper off before.... Read his build post.

Listen this is my last post on push pins because I'm not going to waste time going back and forth on such a ridiculous subject. I know my GC Summit backwards and forwards I work with it all the time and no one has ever removed the fender liners bumpers or anything before in the 3 years that I have owned it after receiving it new with 2 miles on it. I removed the fender liner for the first time last week to do the LED fog lights. They were all the push pin variety that can be removed by pulling the center with needle nose plyers and replaced. Did they use some thing different in March of 2013 when they built the thing, did idiots that put two different color speakers in it and the wrong door bumper grommets put something different in there, did they need to pull it back apart at the factory for some reason I have no idea but I can guarantee you the fender liners came out using the reusable push pins types. For whatever reason it existed that way that is how it was. end of story.

You know that a lot can happen in 2 miles right? That's enough to drive a car to a bay lift from a parking lot plenty of times... 🤔 the question you should be asking is who forgot to cut your punch rivets after replacing them. No matter how stubborn you want to be you are wrong here. They are not meant to have the center pulled out and they are not reusable.

Acting like the situation you have is the norm on summits or any Grand Cherokee is just plain false.

Really weird about whatever type of fasteners were used in his Jeep, but yeah without a doubt the plastic rivets that are supposed to be in there are not reusable and if they were anything else then somethin goofy was going on either at the factory or wherever else. To remove the plastic rivets you basically have to destroy it...cut it, snip it whatever, but it ain't ever getting used again that's for sure. I have a river gone and a bunch of the OEM rivets so I am familiar with them.

I've noticed the bickering going on between the Summit owner and others with non Summit models. Here is a photo of the push pins that came on my 14 Summit. No cutting is necessary to remove them.

I wonder if they had switched all summits bumpers over at a certain point recently those are definitely different. I guess this explains it. Depending on the type you got from the factory you either can or cannot reuse them.

Nothing happened to my jeep in the 2 miles that it had on it when I bought it new, I ordered it and it was still on the car carrier with all the other GCs when I went to the dealer to pick it up they barley had enough time to get the plastic off of it.
My jeep had no rivets in it and nobody cut anything out it had removable reusable push pin type that it came from the factory with.
I am being stubborn because I am not wrong you are wrong and you don't know what you are talking about concerning my Summit. I don't know why you cant accept that there were two different methods going on here that held the fender liners on, the older summits had the push pin type no cutting needed the others had your cuttable rivets. somewhere along the line they changed I have no idea when and I really don't care when. I checked a 2014 Summit in the parking lot at work today of a friend of mine that I usually park near, exactly the same pushpins as mine, Bob below has them exactly the same as mine also, they came from the factory like this nobody messed with them. It is normal for them to be this way on the early Summits and it is not False. I don't know why you always got to act the way you do instead of just having normal discussions and exchanges with people.

Re: New OEM 2015 SRT LED fog lights installed in High Altitude. Pictures and install!

I have an early build 2014 Summit and I have the reusable push pins in mine also. I haven't done the mod yet, but plan on doing it in the next month or 2. I did pull back the fender linings when I took my plastic skid plate off looking for coolant leaks. I pulled the pins out and pushed them back in and also took out the 10mm bolt on each side for a better view of the steering rack which was leaking and replaced under warranty.

It seems the earlier builds had the push pins and the later builds had rivets.

No problem apparently summit fender rivets are different than Overland/Laredo.
