OEM Jeep Slush floor mats not very good :/

UPDATE****

Just found out that after July 2015, Jeep made some alterations to the floor on the grand cherokee. The front two mats were affected. Weather tech has products in progress, and should be done at the end of February.

This is a possible reason on why my two front Jeep Slush mats fit horrible.

My Jeep was mad 11/2015

Thanks for looking!

Purchased them and got them a few days ago. Starting to think I should have sprung and purchased the weather techs or husky liners instead.

These things are not very nice for close to $200.

First things first they don't fit real well. The drivers side was difficult to latch but stuck finally. The passenger side appears to be a tad too big and almost lifts off of the carpet unless you put pressure down on them from your feet. I had to arch them in the middle to get the right clip to line up correctly.

The rear one piece fits nicely over the driveshaft hump, but are built for a size 5 in women's shoes. They don't even go all the way to the seats?!! What good is that, most folks don't have their heels on the carpet adjacent to the seat.

Finally the biggest bummer was the thing I thought would be the easiest thing to nail. The rear hatch mat. It arrived 2 days later and I was excited to think it might make me want to keep them. It's accurate in size , however they didn't account for the rails in the rear and the thing slides back and forth with ease. (Literally apply pressure and push from the top)

I get that they are not "$300" from weather tech laser fitted, but for crying out loud these things are JEEP MADE. They should be the most expensive, and the best fitting.

Also there is no wiping them out, if dirt gets in them you have to take them out to get it out. The grooves emulate that of a 4x4 tread on a tire and are too deep to reach with a cloth. Maybe a tooth brush lol

All anger aside I think they are nice, but worth about $75 shipped not close to $200 for the fit & finish of these.

Still have a few days to box them up, anyone have anything good to say about any other brands that I should be looking for?ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1455581024.337437.jpg

Re: OEM Jeep Slush floor mats not very good :/

I've got Weathertech's front, rear, and cargo in mine and couldn't be happier. They were pricy but I like the coverage they provide. If you go this route, I'll say that it's worth the investment in getting their cleaning/restoration products. They're not cheap either but they make the mats look factory fresh again. Buy once, cry once.

I had a front set of the Husky Classic mats in my KK and the fit was good but I ended up getting Weathertech's put in them after about a year for two reasons. First the nubs that dig in to the carpet flattened out on me after a while and didn't stick into the carpet. Since they cover the carpet tie down point fully, this meant they moved around more than I was expecting when getting in/out and driving. Then I found the exterior side to bend so the fit wasn't flush and the protection was gone. Weather tech has the hole to stick the tab through. Some see this as a disadvantage and while it's possible to get debris through the hole, I appreciate that they don't move.

I can't say anything about the X-Act Conturs as I don't have experience with them but I know lots seem to be very happy with them also.

True.
I started with MOPAR mats in my MY11 WK2. The front X-Act Contours are light years better. The front MOPARs are now a cushion under my hitch rack sitting on the garage floor in the corner. Glad I didn't pay for them.
I still use the back seat MOPARs and their cargo mat is excellent.

I just got the Weather Techs front and rear they fit great and in my opinion they are well worth the price. I will be buying the cargo liner very soon.

Re: OEM Jeep Slush floor mats not very good :/

$200?? I paid $140 shipped for the complete set including the cargo mat.

My mats have worked fine this season. The worst snow storm so far was 30" in one shot and they held every bit of snow I managed to bring inside lol.

I'm thinking maybe you got a set of mats for the wrong year WK2. There is a difference from 2011-12 to 2013-current.

Your cargo mat shouldn't slide around at all, since its rubber.

Yeah the Mopar mats are a disappointment.
To clean them, I take them out and spray with the hose and scrub them with a brush.

thats what I thought. But the rear cargo mat does not conform over the aluminum rails. so all the surface area that touches the rubber allows it to move forward and backward with ease. would have been nice if they we not cut out to account for it, but just less rubber material or almost hollow where the rails should be lined up.
