oem wipers

When you buy them, do the replace the frames too, or is it just the rubber strip. Trying to decide if I should keep the frame just in case after putting on Icons.

If its replacing just the rubber strip, how do I remove the old ones?

Re: oem wipers

Do they still sell just the rubber inserts? I haven't looked for them since the 1960's when they were $3.00 each. Replacing the entire unit helps maintain even pressure on the windshield.

Re: oem wipers

I have both Icon and OEM blade replacements, and they are both complete assemblies.

Re: oem wipers

The OEM blades have also been the best amongst Anco, Rain - X Latitiude and the Bosch Icons. I drive 40k miles a year, so I'm anal with wiper blades.

Re: oem wipers

I hate to say it but OEM wipers have really stepped up their game in the last 10 or 15 years. Even though Icons and others are much better than your typical Anco arms, I don't think you can beat OEM.

Re: oem wipers

The OEM lasted me almost 2 years.... We'll see how long the ICONs last. How much are OEM btw? For some reason, I thought they were just rubber inserts.

Re: oem wipers

I agree that OEM blades are much better than in the past. However beam blades such as Icons are much better in snow and ice, better even than the old "winter" blades.
