Off road led lights behind grill

Hello everyone I'm looking to get 2 led off road lights. I want the circular one similar to the Piaa ones. Want to put them behind the grill. Thanks

Sorry i forgot to say I just want to know if anyone knows of any good models

Re: Off road led lights behind grill

I don't recall seeing a WK2 with this mod yet. The whole grille assembly is a PITA to remove. I don't know if there's room behind there for lights. I know Ram owners do this. Keep us posted.

only problem with that is, being low to the ground, you wouldn't get much light throw.
I know that someone else on this forum chucked a 20'' light bar in between the two tow hooks in the grill space there.
Looked great, but again performance affected due to low height

Re: Off road led lights behind grill

I put a 20'' bar behind the lower grille, light output absolutely helps on dark roads and its very noticable. overall im happy with it. plus it looks bad ass on approach. if it were mounted a little higher however, the light output would be a little better. heres a pic.

Re: Off road led lights behind grill

That light looks awesome.

I would take the main grill out, jigger the lights up there and close it. It would be better protected and will have better light throw

Re: Off road led lights behind grill

The Rigid D2s do Fit behind the grill. You need sometype of bracket coming down off the top to mount them too. I have a set, just waiting to get something made so they install solid. Can't wait and when I get them I'll post pics. But they do fit depth wise and the light portion fits just perfectly between the slots in the front grill.

Also like how the light bar looks down low on the image posted eariler.
