"Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

Ever since they unveiled the Offroad Edition "concept" Jeep at SEMA I've been drooling over the images. I know this isn't a production model but every time I see a picture my mind starts thinking of ways to make my WK2 look more like that special edition. I love the lack of chrome and flash, the matte black trim pieces. Since the concept vehicles all seem to be white or silver, I ran the model through photoshop to see what that dark grille would look like on my Dark Charcoal Laredo.

where can I buy that grille?

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

Very nice rendering . . . I have a mineral gray overland and would like to change all chrome, especially the door handles. First and easiest is to powder coat the rims a satin black. When I win the lottery, I'll do the rest.

I like the red tow hooks up front. That looks pretty sweet! Perhaps a mod in my future....

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

I like that a lot! I allready know I want to powder coat my rims when i pick up my Dark Charcoal Laredo X. I have been trying to decide to de-chrome and i like that look a lot. My wife for some reason thinks it is "gangsta" and is not for it. Somebody do it so I can show her pics.

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

I'm thinking I might just try the black grille with tinted front windows and leave the chrome wheels (with some more aggressive off-road tires). I've already removed the door chrome. I agree that overuse of dark elements can a little bit too "gangster", but personally I think that chrome everything (like the overlands with the 20's) look way more "gangster" than this concept. To each their own.

I like those photos, they honestly should consider making a limited run of them.

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

If you look closely, it looks like they painted the housings Black.

Re: "Offroad Edition" Concept // Dark Charcoal

That silver one is the same one I posted earlier. I just changed the paint color in photoshop.

I too thought that the housings were painted black, but I think it might be an optical illusion caused by the black grille...
