opinion's on this receiver hook

Just trying to add a few visuals besides the lift and bigger tires.

I thought this looked cool but also think it may look stupid on a " tar baby " wk2 ( although I do help people out of snow in the winter ) .

Would look better on a lifted Wrangler

I find myself in the same boat helping people in the winter (or helping myself a few times). I ran with one in my hitch for a while until someone decided they needed my D-Ring more than I did. I have not kept it in the receiver since for that reason but have not been without one for the better part of 15 years. Good to have, risky to have sitting there 24/7.

Put that guy in the spare tire storage area for when you need it. No reason to have it rattling around and getting rusty while you are running around. If you want something sexy to show, get one of those lighted receiver covers with the Mopar, HEMI, Jeep, Playboy, etc symbols. Or you could get one that flashes when you put on the brakes. Everyone likes a good blinking light.

Re: opinion's on this receiver hook

Also,

Does this , in fact, rattle around all the time where you can hear and feel it as I think above member is implying ?

It seems like it would be pretty heavy to bounce on smaller street bumps ??

Re: opinion's on this receiver hook

Yes, it will rattle slightly over various bumps. I had one on my lifted WK for about 3 years. I just got used to the sound after a while. Just make sure to get a locking pin.

I think i'm going to order this one to use for the winter months, plus it looks good in all black:

Do you have a part number or link for that? I really like the all black as well. Thanks.

Extremely poor word choice there.

Stick to “mall crawler”. It's a lot less racist.

Re: opinion's on this receiver hook

I use a beaver step http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/182.htm with a locking hitch pin so there is no D-ring/shackle to get stolen and helps with loading or unloading the roof rack.
