Re: Opt 7 Fogs

I have the DDM kit on the fogs and the light output is less than the Philips Ultinon LEDs I had before, not even close. At least they match the color of the Morimoto's headlights. I can't recommend them. I will try to switch the bulbs to the original XD kit I have laying around to see if that is the issue. I might try to raise the alignment a bit to see if that helps. Too cold to do anything right now so it'll have to wait. Oh and the bulbs are properly seated in place, before someone "suggests" that.

Re: Opt 7 Fogs

I'm not having any issues with my 6500k DDM output. Although you would think the 5500k should be brighter. Are the bulbs in with the wire downward?

Re: Opt 7 Fogs

So the DDM's are useless. Man I have to cancel. And now I'm stuck with crappy opt7's because the Customer Service sucks!!

Opt 7 Fogs

Ddms are not useless they are awesome! Probably installed the bulbs upside down. Anyone who thinks aftermarket LEDs are brighter than HID's doesn't know what they are talking about.

Re: Opt 7 Fogs

So in your opinion do the ddm's put out more light than the stock ones?

I have DDMs (4100 K, 55 Watt) in my Subaru (projector housing) and these OPT 7 LEDs are just as bright, if not brighter. Despite the skewed comparison of fog light brightness to headlight low beam brightness. You also don't get the filament wire shadow with the OPT 7.

But hey, at least on one count I know what you are talking about: DDM HIDs are awesome. But they are not the only game in town.

Opt 7 Fogs

How can you compare two different cars with two different types of housings (even if they both are protector that doesn't mean they are the same).

And actually, DDM's HIDs are the only true plug and play kit available right now for 2015+

It is not 100% proven that HID's (even 35w kits) produce more lumens than any aftermarket LED kit available?

Crude comparison as it is, I aimed them both from the same distance against the same wall ? Now, my HIDs are from 2012 (but not much used, don't drive that much) and I have VEIL on my headlights which cuts the output. However...

Randomly chosen:

DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting
Output: Output up to 3400 Lumens when used on a 35W ballast and 5000 Lumens on a 55W ballast you're sure to be seen.

OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Headlight - Opt-7

Crisp, Clear White Lighting 6000K @ 3,500 Lms of clear white lighting with that touch of xenon blue per bulb

Looks like this:
1) If DDM lumens are total output, then OPT 7 wins
2) If DDM lumesn are per bulb, then OPT 7 matches the 35Watt HIDs

Problem is everyone knows LED lumen ratings are grossly exaggerated and the throw (visible distance) pails in comparison to HID...
