That's exactly where mine is located - no issues ever - and almost completely obscured from my view (driver side).

It's almost touching the mirror on its left side and almost touching the top window bezel on its top side. Fully inside the black dot region.

I tried a couple spots before deciding to simply stick it to the windshield. I was hoping for fully non-visible, but had mixed results.

Great! Thanks! Good to know it still works in that area of the windshield.
I really didn't want to put it outside of the black pattern, i think that's a little to far out, kind of like its floating in space.....LOL

Re: Optimum Location for E-Z Pass Card

I have mine on the "black dots" to the right of the mirror (from the drivers perspective) and it is totally out of vision.

Re: Optimum Location for E-Z Pass Card

I got a Fast Lane pass in MA on Friday. The folks behind the counter at the Auburn Service Center told me to put it behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side of the car. The service center is right off of Interstate 90, which is the MA Toll Road. Although they told me that the pass wouldn't be active until 30 minutes after I got it, it worked when I got back onto the highway.

Same "install" instructions for E-Z Pass in NY which is a compatable system with Fast Lane.

Re: Optimum Location for E-Z Pass Card

I placed it next to the mirror but just below the cross-hatched pattern. I can't see it at all from the drivers' seat but from the front, UGH!

I have my "I-Pass" in the same location. I spray painted mine black (it was white) to make it less noticeable.

I would not be surprised if New York State has a law against that!

If New York does, then I'm sure Illinois does too!

Re: Optimum Location for E-Z Pass Card

I covered mine with gaffer tape (black cloth backed duct tape) and put it in a suction cup holder from Bed Bath & Beyond just to the right of the rearview mirror. The tape helped it stop rattling in the holder and the white no longer stands out. Eventually I will ditch the holder and go with black velcro. Works fine on PA Turnpike. Pic attached, sorry for the crappy blackberry pics and I can't seem to get it to rotate right. When the battery dies, I just remove the tape and trade it no questions asked - not a permanent color mod like paint.

EDIT: Gaffer tape is available on Amazon. Comes in handy all over the house, I've relied on it for 15 years. It's what sound guys use for taping down wires - matte black and doesn't leave a residue when removed.
