I thought I would start a thread showing the color I gave my tow hooks. I ordered the tow hooks in the only color available at the moment (black), and they arrived pretty beat up with paint chips all over. Mopar packs them lose inside the box banging against each other.
To fix this, I thought I would paint them in red, but then at Autozone, I saw the orange color spray paint and I thought it would look good with my Maximum Steel Metallic Jeep. Also, they would be something other than black, red or chrome.
I used VHT high temperature paint. Notice that the second photo is inside with different light.
Looks good my friend. I too am looking at adding tow hooks to a max steel GC. Thinking of trying to color match them. Where did you end up purchasing them from? Im getting the run around with stock availability issues.
I ordered mine from Morris 4x4 Center. When I called to make sure they had them in stock they told me they had one in stock. Seems like I ordered the last one. But that was almost three weeks ago so they may have more in stock now.
I ordered mine from Morris 4x4 as well. Picked up the second to last set like mininuke said. They were the only place I could find that had them in stock at a reasonable price. That was weeks ago so I'm sure they have more in now.
I'm freaking pissed. In the middle of installing the tow hooks and now I realized I'm missing parts. Absolutely zero quality control from Dodge/Mopar. Missing 4 18mm bolts, a spacer and space bracket.
I had the same issues. I was missing parts from my kit as well. Only while in the middle of the install did I realize I didn't have everything. It's was so frustrating. Morris 4x4 sucked at getting the issues resolved so after all the frustration I demanded a partial refund. They gave me $20 back and I found parts to make it work. If I was using the tow hooks all the time I would have demanded replacement OEM parts but because mine are mainly for show I just made it work. I'm not saying I can't use them now, but I wouldn't feel 100% confident.
