So, i just ordered the mopar chrome side steps last night for my WK2 !
I'm very excited to get them, i think they look awesome! I also think they will look really nice with the stone white.

Hopefully we will be installing them on monday and i will post pics after :D

does anyone that has installed these have any helpful tips for install? I have heard the directions aren't the greatest...lol

I didn't think the directions were too bad. My advice would be, "don't remove any rivets, or any part of the lower, plastic side sill". I did, and followed directions on the passenger side. It was a pain. I read on here that many didn't, so the drivers side went much more smoothly. There's not much room for a torque wrench up there. Most just snug it tight with 3/8" ratchet + wrenches.

I know I've said this many times, but I'm disappointed in the Mopar bars/steps. The actual step pad is way too small/narrow. I really don't like the aftermarket ones either. If it wouldn't be for my kids, I'd prefer not to have them. My kids have slipped a couple times on them. The Mopar running boards on my Aspen were 100x better. I wish they would make true running boards -- that integrated with the vehicle. How hard would that be? I almost wish I bought the rock sliders instead. They probably have just as much of a step, and look much better. You're right though, chrome will look good on white.

I have a 5 year old that constantly pulls himself in behind the driver side door by using the mesh netting on the back of the drivers seat in my wife's 11 Overland.

I was thinking about getting these sidebar steps (chrome), however a guy from my office said that he didn't get them because he always dragged his pants against them int he winter and got all sloppy from it. I wouldn't have a problem because i'd step over them being 6'8", but... does that happen? Would you really get dirty from those?

$600 installed my parts department says - yet service told me it's a 2 hour install. Weird.

I have heard a few people say they didn't think the side steps were useful. I hope they work out good for me. I'm only 5'1" and everytime i get in and out of the jeep im sliding on the edge of my seat. I kind of have to do a little hop to get in and out....lol im noticing the wear on my seat. I like the looks of the side steps and im hoping they will actually be useful in my case.....:)

HOEPFULLY we can install these ourselves, otherwise i may have to have the dealer install mine also. Don't know what they would charge for install. I paid $496 including the shipping just for the steps

Im really hoping to attempt install on monday!
