Overland Seats Uncomfortable

Is it just me or does anyone else find the overland seats not real comfortable? Wife just got back from a 1800+ mile trip. Complaining about the seats. Loves the JGC, HATES the seats is what I was told. We had a Loaded Tahoe before and the seats were like recliners. These overland seats seem very hard.
Don't support real well as well. Maybe she is just spoiled, but I find myself having a hard time not agreeing with her.

Let's hear some feedback

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

Seats are so subjective, and I am sure it's hard for automakers to get them right for different body types.

I couldn't sit in a old-fashioned American "luxury car" seat for a long trip, but our 2014 GC Overland was great on a recent 6-hour freeway drive. I contrast this with our other car, a 2013 Ford Edge Sport, which has a really long seat-bottom cushion that cuts into my calves after about an hour.

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

They are a bit stiff compared to any other car I owned. But, after a few weeks I got very used to them. Getting them adjusted right, including the lumbar support is the key. Some cars I've had, the lumbar support only added or reduced pressure. These also move up and down, which is a real plus.

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

They are fine (up to) an 1800 mile trip. Anything above 1800 miles will be a little uncomfortable.

It's difficult to compare to a Loaded Tahoe because if the Tahoe was fully loaded, the extra weight will provide a softer ride.

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

The ride is great. No complaints there. I wanted to see if others felt the same as she does.

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

My seat seemed a little stiff when it was new, but either the seats broke in, or my butt broke in. They're real comfortable now.

I agree, it's a matter of perspective. Before my 2012 Overland I had a 2013 wrangler Sahara, loved the jeep but my wife hated the seats and legroom on long drives (which we do a lot). When we chose the overland she loved the seats which was a huge deciding factor on her part, I agree they are a little stuff but I think they are pretty darn comfortable... If not luxurious :-)

Re: Overland Seats Uncomfortable

I like the seats. They remind me of my 1993 Acura Legend. Not "supple" but supportive. Over time they will still be firm but give a little, while an immediately soft seat will most likely lessen support (and comfort).

My 2004 JGC had soft seats, I like these better.
