Painted Calipers added Mopar decal

I had Nate from REBADGE make me some decals back in September but never got around to painting the calipers.

I also painted the rotor hats.

The black paint made all the component disappear behind the wheel.

Material used were Duplicolor caliper paint. and VHT Expoxy paint (for the anti-rattle clip). I am going back the Duplicolor engine paint for my next brake project.

Re: Painted Calipers added Mopar decal

Looks great, though you should have painted the outer edge of the rotor as well, that would have completed it ..... I don't have any pics available of mine BUT if you do that you'll see what I mean .... Vroom, vroom .....

Re: Painted Calipers added Mopar decal

I have done that before on past projects.

I am planning on upgrading to the 350MM heavy duty brake rotors soon so I was playing with the look of the painted hat. If it grows on me than I will paint all of that on the new rotors.

That looks great. Excuse my ignorance but how is the decal adhered to the caliper or is it sprayed on?

Clarkey.

Clarkey.

Clarkey I used the same vinyl decal that you would place on your windshield or on the painted surface of your car.

I have been doing this for year and they usually hold up very well.

Re: Painted Calipers added Mopar decal

I masked the pistons, and the bleeder screw and cap
  • I painted the caliper on the Car it was was loose but it was attached by the hose still.
  • I painted the caliper adapter on a work bench
  • I painted the rotor also on a work bench.
To Protect the suspension from over spray I actually used large peices of aluminum foil. I also used aluminum foil to mask the brake hose.

I painted to under side of the caliper first then I let is set up then I turned it over and painted to top of it. I was laying on the hub when I was spray painting it.
