Re: Painted chrome and smoked tails

WOW that looks amazing. I am planning on doing the exact same thing with the addition of painting the chrome around the windows black. Did you paint the chrome or have a shop do it? If you had a shop paint it, how expensive was it?

Thanks, I took chrome trim off the bottom of the tails painted the trim black then smoked the tails lightly I wanted them just little darker than factory. I also painted all the chrome trim white except trim around the glass I'm going to get it vinyl wrapped. Did all the work myself I'm the painter at a local body shop so I just fit my projects in between as I can. Our shop charges 120.00 for set of tails smoked however you want them I'll try to find some pics of tails apart and post them our shop has a Facebook page with pics but I don't know if I can post it here

I'm not sure what that job would cost because of all the R&I time on the parts that would cost as much as the painting. If I had to guess about a price figure about 7-9 hr@ $50.00 R&I and about 9-10 hr@ $50.00 refinish so not that cheap but worth it to me
