I've had stuff like that painted before. Besides the normal prep work, you only need to add a flex agent to the paint mix.

Try a different body shop. Haven't done it on a Grand Cherokee but we paint fender flares on Wranglers all the time for the inventory and they're plastic....

You can purchase body coloured or paintable lower fascia and wheel flare trims from jeep. If your going down that route I wouldn't be painting the black plastic that comes standard, but each to their own.

Re: Painting the fender flares and bumpers on a 14 limited

I just ordered the Flares from them so they should be here early next week (got the Jeepgarage5 5% discount). Total plus shipping was $298. The shop is painting them for $250 and then $100 if I want them to install them. Can't wait to have these done and installed! I'll send pics when I get it done.

Am I the only one who likes the contrast of the un-painted flares?

I would if my vehicle was setup like yours but then I might even get them to paint them black or do plastidip them. It's all personal preference..

Re: Painting the fender flares and bumpers on a 14 limited

I dropped off the flares yesterday and he called me this morning that they had them done. Dropped car off for about an hour to have them installed. They look great!

This color looks off but it may just be the picture.
That would drive me nuts if it was.

I hope it's the photo or lighting as well. It almost looks like they didn't use enough metallic or 3 stage the paint job like they should of.
