passenger seatbelt ding

I am wondering if anyone knows how to turn off or disconnect the passengers side seatbelt alarm. My dog goes everywhere with me and he has claimed the front passenger seat as his. He weighs in right at about 50lbs which most of the time sets off the seatbelt alarm. I am wondering how I can turn this thing off, any ideas??

Buckle the belt.

There are about 4,300 threads on here about it.
See this one where you will see I post three methods found in these forums - Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

The procedures are relevant to your 2011 model.

Re: passenger seatbelt ding

I guess it doesn't hurt to have yet another instance of the process in the forums.

This worked on my 2012:
To remove seatbelt chime
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and fasten the drivers seatbelt.
2. Start engine, and wait for Seat Belt warning light to turn OFF.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting engine, unbuckle and then re-buckle driver's seat belt at least 3 times, ending with belt buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that your life is in your own hands.

It can take several tries to get it disabled.
