Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

FYI...

Due to the small size of the Philips resistor I can see issues down the road.

They may have been fine from a vehicle with a separate AMBER turn signal but not for a vehicle that uses the brake light as the turn signal....

Every time you put your foot on the brake the resistor is getting heated.

XD I suggest that you discontinue selling the Philips branded resistor s and just ship the standard sized 6ohm 50 watt resistor with those bulbs and you will have less claims.

Jeep_addicted - We've sold a ton of the resistors -- literally. To the best of my knowledge, we've had one fail.

I would love to hear about this too. I don't like the idea of splicing my existing wires....sounds like a bad idea

Agree, especially when you need to remove them when they fail, then you tap into the OEM wire again to troubleshoot (switch sides)...not ideal at all...

I've been looking at updating mine. I am going to pull the trigger on these. I'll let you guys know how they work out once I get them. Thanks for the link!

Looks excellent, only from what I see you won't be able to mount the resistor (needs to be mounted behind bumper) Cable not long enough from the looks of it, you could extend the cable though...

Is this the case with the tail light housing from a 2011? Also, does anyone know what bulb size I need for the inner tail lights?

I tried them and didn't work at all so I wouldn't try them if I were you. Now I'm stuck with these resistors that work for anything. And the company I bought them from wont respond to me.

All I can find is 194's. Hopefully those match up.

Thanks for the heads up! I asked the ebay seller a few questions about them and they were quick to respond. Is that who you bought yours from?
