Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

Dabitz, your rig is what i'm going for, super stealth. It looks awesome, are those the stock WK2 Laredo 17's power coated? Also, did you spray or paint on the plasti dip for the bug deflector?

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

Yes those are stock 17 powder coated. I plasti dipped the grill and the back of the bug deflector as well. I want to get the Altitude grill though...

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

Do you mind sharing which plasti dip you used and how you did the deflector and grille?

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

I used the one flat sold at Home Depot. I did the deflector before I mounted it, but I didn't take out the grill. There are plenty of videos on youtube with tips, etc. on how to pasti dip. For the deflector I just put it on the grass face down and painted the rear of it. It's a fun project, just do several light coats and it will come out great. I tried the rear brow twice but didnt' come up even so I peeled it out.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

I have the smoke one from Weathertech. It fits really well and the smoke blends very well with the black.

I did the same with plasti dip on my grille, wheels and all the external chrome moldings (except for around the windows) and they came out ok.

Nice job on the plasti! Are those stock 17 inch wheels and tires? Could you post a side profile pic? I tried doing my rear brow but it didnt come out even, any tips? I waited only 15 between coats and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol prior. Nice ride man.

Hey loue37.

My first attempt at Plasti dipping a couple of areas saw a bit of trial and error.

I used a hair dryer between coats. I don't know if you're supposed to but it obviously speeds up the drying process and kind of bakes it on I guess.

As for the wheels. As Far as I'm aware we only get 18" or 20" wheel on our Grands down here in Australia. I believe it's because of the larger heavy duty brakes that come standard on the export models.

Anyway, here are the pics you wanted.

Cheers,

Clarkey.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

Guys, have you retained the rubber seal on the underside of your hood when installing the bug shield?
