I used the one flat sold at Home Depot. I did the deflector before I mounted it, but I didn't take out the grill. There are plenty of videos on youtube with tips, etc. on how to pasti dip. For the deflector I just put it on the grass face down and painted the rear of it. It's a fun project, just do several light coats and it will come out great. I tried the rear brow twice but didnt' come up even so I peeled it out.
I did the same with plasti dip on my grille, wheels and all the external chrome moldings (except for around the windows) and they came out ok.
Nice job on the plasti! Are those stock 17 inch wheels and tires? Could you post a side profile pic? I tried doing my rear brow but it didnt come out even, any tips? I waited only 15 between coats and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol prior. Nice ride man.
My first attempt at Plasti dipping a couple of areas saw a bit of trial and error.
I used a hair dryer between coats. I don't know if you're supposed to but it obviously speeds up the drying process and kind of bakes it on I guess.
As for the wheels. As Far as I'm aware we only get 18" or 20" wheel on our Grands down here in Australia. I believe it's because of the larger heavy duty brakes that come standard on the export models.
Guys, have you retained the rubber seal on the underside of your hood when installing the bug shield?
