Pic of black bug deflector?

I have damage on the front of the hood and I initially tried to cover it with the chrome bug deflector. It was just way too much chrome so I'm considering getting the smoked one and put the chrome one on ebay. Does anyone have a picture of the MOPAR black one installed? I have looked everywhere but no luck. I can only find aftermarket. My thought would be if I don't like it then I'll get that Dr Color Chip thing... thanks.

I have the smoke deflector on mine as well. Only lettering on mine is on the driver's side. Looks a lil more stealth that big lettering.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

You can also backpaint the clear or smoked bug shields to your body color. By painting it on the backside, you blend it into the body color and avoid rock ships and scratches that might occur if you painted the front side. I have had this done in the past on many vehicles and it looks nice.

Another option is the 3M clear film on the hood, but you should touch up and buff any rock chips flush 1st. Always best to get the film on ASAP after purchasing if you are going that route, but I have put it on vehicles that have had the chips fixed and they barely show. Best luck.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

Mine is over a year old now and I have a a few chips on the edge. Not to mention my front bumper. I don't like how you can see the chrome logo (see thru). Maybe I'll just remove it. Looks a lot better than the chromed one though, specially since my grill is plasti dipped.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

I can barely see the chrome letting through mine. It deffinately doesn't stand out like the one in the photo above. At the time of order, it was the only "smoke" color that was availalble.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

I ordered it, I'm planning to plasti dip the back of it so it doesn't show thru. I can't stand looking at my hood chips anymore. I'll post pictures once it's setup. Thanks for all the help. I'l be putting my chrome one on ebay soon as well.

Re: Pic of black bug deflector?

I have this aftermarket one (AVIS Bugfector II). I like it better than the MOPAR one because it gives better protection near the front of the fenders and stands away from the hood so you can get behind it to clean/wax the hood.
