Pictures of my mods!

Painted my grill brilliant black pearl to match, smoked tail lights with Niteshades, and upgraded wheels/tires with Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/45/20 and 20" Helo HE866 wheels. (DYI saves alot of money, and if you do it right can look great!)

My next project will be factory matching the rear brow black as well and tinting the front windows. These will wait until winter is over...

Let me know what you think!

Looks good. Planning on doing the same to my Jeep, but I just need to have time and the money to spend.

Re: Pictures of my mods!

Nice job. Suggest removal/painting of chrome rub rails on doors.

Re: Pictures of my mods!

It's really cheap to paint things on your own.. just takes time. Wheels/tires make a huge difference, just expensive!

I am contemplating painting the chrome door strips since I'm going for the "blacked out" look, but my wheels have crome accents that tie it in.
My wheels also came with black inserts I can swap out if I want ALL black. Just need to decide... definately wont remove them though, too many stupid/careless people to leave me a nice door ding if i take em off!

thanks for the feedback!

Re: Pictures of my mods!

Looks Great

Just a little note about night shades it is like candy paint and does not like the sun.
I did some taillights on my brothers 5 series BMW three years ago and they have completely faded back to stock.

So if you want to keep the tinted look of the taillights I would suggest having them done professionally. but if you think you will outgrow the "tinted tails" stick with the Nite shades.

Re: Pictures of my mods!

I didnt use niteshades on the reflectors because I was nervous about getting ticketed. I'll keep it in mind though.

Does niteshades fade even if I used several coats of clear coat and wet sanding and polish and wax? I would think that if you maintain it like your regular paint that it shouldn't?

Does anyone else have input on this?

thanks!

Re: Pictures of my mods!

I know you're in Oregon and I can't speak for your State's laws, but in Florida, tinting the tails is illegal. The tails need to emit red light and it needs to be visible from 1000', so you can see how blacking them out could be troublesome. Just FYI...food for thought.

Re: Pictures of my mods!

Oregon has similar laws for tinted tail lights. I made sure I read up on it because I havent had the best of luck with police in the past. The tails look very dark, but believe it or not still light up really well!

Thanks for the feedback all!

I polished them before putting them on, waited a few weeks and waxed. I think they should hold up well to all weather. I'll keep you posted if I see any flaws!
