I've used pressure washers on my old rims that were plastidipped and i've never had an issue. Of course, if you're using an extremely high powered pressure washer, then you need to be careful how long you concentrate on that area. Fan out the water instead of a powerful stream and you'll never have a problem.

Re: Plastidipped chrome bezels

From my experience washing anything that's been plastidipped, I've never used a powerwash but always used a hose and scrubbed pretty hard and never had an issue...once I'm done plastipping anything, I always wait a few days before washing or scrubbing it

Re: Plastidipped chrome bezels

I really like the look of it! I did the chrome window trim on my WK and it has held up well over 6 months now. I even take my Jeep through automatic car washes without any peeling or flaking, one brushless and the other microfiber brushes. The grill was done over a year ago and has stood up to the test of time so far. Vinyl has it's pluses and minuses just like Plasti Dip, but dollar for dollar your WK2 looks great!

Re: Plastidipped chrome bezels

The pics look great! Well done- could you do mine? Lol. I plasti dipped my side trim last week on my red laredo, and it looks so much better (of course with the chrome window trim it looks kind of off). I plan on doing the window trim eventually, giving my Jeep GC that red w/ blacked out look. What did you use to prep the trim? Also, how many coats did you apply? I usually hang around 4-5 coats and I'm just curious. Again, well done man!

Re: Plastidipped chrome bezels

Hey ctown...thanks man...again I had some help doing it but yea 4-5 coats is what we did...and as far as prepping, make sure the area is super clean beforehand just so the plastidip comes smooth...try to do on a non-windy day to avoid overspray

Re: Plastidipped chrome bezels

Did you use the glossifier too? I've debating on whether to do this but not sure. How does it look in regards the cracks in between the doors and what not?
