Re: Plastidipped rear Jeep logo

Can you show a close up of the Jeep logo. I'm trying to see the detail around the lettering. Did you do the recessed part too?

Re: Plastidipped rear Jeep logo

I'm trying to decide how I want mine to look. I think I'm going to dip all the chrome pieces and do a light coat over all the black plastic trim so it all matches. My jeep is the same color as yours. I'm in NC too but my plate has the red lettering. Working on seeing what personalized plate will look best.

I wouldn't recommend just doing a light coat using PlastiDip. It may not come out right and also it will be almost impossible to peel off a thin coat.

You're right. I don't know why I said light coat. My intention was to do the black trim around the wheel wells and lower facsia so it would match the other black on the other previously chrome components.

Re: Plastidipped rear Jeep logo

I want to black out the entire chrome bar out back but am concerned that it will either mess up or won't look right around the rear window button.

Nice work, looks good.

If you want to dip the whole brow I would recommend taking it off.

Agreed. I just posted removal instructions in another thread: Rear Brow Removal?

Re: Plastidipped rear Jeep logo

The fruit of my labor. I tried to do just the letters in the back but every time I tried to remove the extra dip it would pull up the letters. Gotta try a different method tomorrow.

Anyone plastic dip the new front grills for the 2014 limited with the chrome rings instead of being full chrome like they used to.

When I did my logo, I did several good coats and then used a tooth pick to help pull it away from the letters without pulling up. It worked well for me and since it was a tooth pick, I didn't have to worry about it hurting the paint or clear-coat below.
