PrecisionLED Installed 14' Altitude

Yesterday I received my order from PrecisionLED. I opted to buy the standard package LED Cool White (8000K) with the vanity bulbs. I decided against the glovebox one for $5.99 more since I have not opened the box more than 2 times. Each time being during the day. I now think I should have picked it up just for consistency hehe.

Here are some pics of the packaging and after install. Please excuse the photo quality since they are taken from my iPhone and in my pitch black garage.

How hard was the trunk lights? It looked very simple in the video. Your ride looks good.

Thanks! The trunk light installation is pretty simple. They give you the tool to pop out the tailgate trim and gain full access to the bulb.

I think I am going to get the same set soon. Too cold in NY to do the install.

Were you able to switch out the map lights? I could not figure these ones out.

To clarify what I mean… In front of the rearview mirror there are 2 clear lights on the outside that you press on the light cover itself to turn on. And then there are 2 smaller lights that you need to press a little black button to turn on. The map lights that Im talking about are the smaller ones that turn on when you press the black button.

These bulbs are actually integrated into the circuit board. There have been a few people swap them out but you are looking at soldering out the old bulbs. Not impossible but definitely a pain in the ass.

There is a tutorial on how to do the swap for the map lights but it does consist of playing with integrated boards and solder. I have decided to pass on that mod though hehe.

Thanks about the look of the lights. The light output is excellent.

Great lights. Are those the regular led or the premium leds ?

Edit: just noticed you purchased the standard. Thanks

Re: PrecisionLED Installed 14' Altitude

I hate how dark the interior is at night. Those 2 overhead lights by the doors at the back seat are worthless.

What size or style of bulbs are the map lights, overhead lights, and litigate lights?

For future reference, no way I was pulling off the tailgate trim of my brand new jeep.

Using a flathead screwdriver from a eyeglass repair kit, you can carefully pry under the lens of the tailgate lights and either pop off the lens, or pull out the whole housing. If you only get the lens off, pull the housing through the panel for easy reassembly. Replace the bulb, pop the lens back on the housing, then push the housing back in the panel.
