While I love the Altitude look, I don't want to completely copy it.

Neat project. Personally, I think that color would look better with those pieces painted to match, but it's your truck, do what makes you happy.

I wish you had posted this 2 weeks ago, I'd have traded you black fog bezels for chrome ones :P

Personally, I like the contrast between the black and the bronze rather than all-bronze. It will look cleaner once the headlights and wheels are replaced. I'm also removing the chrome door guards and replacing them with the Grand Cherokee lettering.

Re: Project Altitude - Build thread

I like the way your project is heading the look is truly unique.

I would hang onto all my stock peices as your car is a 70th Anniversary which was a one year only offered model

The altitude is basically a replacement for the 70th but it doesn't get it own special interior.

I guess I am thinking like a purist.... I would have taken a plain laredo and did the Altitude project to it.

Where did you get those parts? Straight from the dealer? Also how much did you pay for them?

Re: Project Altitude - Build thread

Powdercoat the wheels and get the headlight black surrounding, it's expensive ($60) but will blend the grill into the rest of the vehicle.... looks awsome.

I know this is really simple but how do you remove the fog light bezels?

The black OEM bezels are easy to remove since they are very flexible. Use a plastic pry tool and some elbow grease to un-do one side - the other side will follow. The bezels are held in place by four tabs.

The chrome fog bezel is nearly impossible to remove from the front since it is so rigid. It was easier to take them off from the back when the bumper was off.

Glad you think so! They'll be for sale soon with tires & TPMS.
