Smile Project "MAKO" w/LED DRL strips installed!!!

Had some spare time recently, so thought I'd experiment with some LED DRL strips a buddy gave me. After many hours of playing around with them, the following is the result...

...I removed my OEM DRL bulbs and wired-tapped each strip into wiring of each DRL socket, so they have exact same function as OEM DRL's (including turning off when turn signal is flashing).

Stay tuned...more pics to come!!!

Interesting. I'd suggest color-temp matching the fogs to match.

How are the strips attached - adhesive?

Re: Project "MAKO" w/LED DRL strips installed!!!

Installation was completed with 3M doubled-sided tape (included on the strips) to the bottom of headlamp housings. FYI...it's a very tight fit under there...they almost didn't fit...lol!

I am doing the same thing. I have the strips at home, just haven't had the time to install. Did you remove your bumper?

Re: Project "MAKO" w/LED DRL strips installed!!!

I just did the same thing I found some strips and installed them yesterday they look awesome the only thing I did differently was I plugged the wires directly into the ports and left a the bulbs in which was less of a hassle. They look awesome!

Re: Project "MAKO" w/LED DRL strips installed!!!

To the OP, If possible I'd like to see some close ups of the headlights with the strips off. I want to see how they look powered down.
Also, can you post a link to the LEDs you used? What size strip was used and was there any cutting of the strips involved? This is something I'm interesting in doing and the info. will be helpful.

Thanks.
