Protect the paint

Hello
When I bought my used Overland Wk2 I had the area behind the rear doors re-painted due to pittings from stones, gravels etc. Mounted mud flaps for protection and a larger piece of plastic protection film but this film is taking a lot of beat with winter and all. It is insane how they designed this car, you could not drive it on sanded roads or gravel roads If you would like to keep the paint in this area. My plan is to buy fender flares and modified the mud flaps to these. How are your paint holding up??
