I had been searching for a nice sunshade to use in our new WK2 and was getting sick of using ill-fitting and cheap-feeling offerings from parts stores. I came across this ProTrim sunshade on Amazon for $49 w/ free shipping. Yes, that may be a bit expensive for a sunshade, but I figure a vehicle this nice deserves an equally nice sunshade.
The shade comes packaged in a nice black "pleather" storage bag with silver edge piping. The shade is made from a very thick, lightweight material with a gray fabric covering on one side and a reflective covering on the other. The only markings are a very small ProTrim logo on the reflective surface in the bottom, driver's corner. As you can see from the pictures, the shade fits the contours of the windshield perfectly and there are no interference issues with the mirror. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase! I understand it is not really a mod, but I figured seeing this may help others who are also in the market for a good sunshade. I am confident that his shade, combined with the new 18% front window tint should keep the interior cool and the leather protected.
Dang, I think im gonna buy that. Right now I have a generic one that I have used in a couple different cars of mine so obviously it doesnt fit that great. It works, but that one is just made for the Jeep!
I bought the same one based on the pics in the original thread BMRISKO posted as soon as my JGCO arrived. I have been completely satisfied with it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality sunshade.
I started using a new Protrim sunshade two weeks ago. It does fit perfectly and is easy to set in place and remove. Just be careful which way you fold it as it is just cardboard. If you reverse fold it you will weaken it and it will become useless. It definitely keeps the interior cooler.
