UPDATE: Added Vanity Bulb replacement

As some members have asked, this is what I have assembled thus far in trying to convert the regular bulbs to LED. I haven't personally been able to do the swaps yet, however they have all been obtained from various forum posts from members who have done swaps here and there. Listed below is a quick chart to figure out which bulb you'll need for a particular application. This is all that I have ordered thus far from XenonDepot. All bulbs I believe are sold in Pairs. Don't forget to use JG exclusive JGLED coupon code for 15% off total too!

As I find out more, I'll add to this list. Since we have come to find out the manual for interior bulbs is incorrect, Its not as easy as using the original part number from the manual. For example the interior cargo part number in the manual is 214-2 which is a fuse style bulb. I took the bulb out, and it is NOT a fuse style bulb, but like the interior footwell bulb, a 194. Not sure why there are discrepancies in the manual.

Correct!

and yes they can get expensive, the most expensive being the DRL and the Main Reverse (the two most pleasing IMO as they change an offwhite/amber light to pure white). With the coupon though its a little better, and his prices without the coupon are on par with Amazon. If you order a lot he might even be able to do a little better then the advertised 15% coupon.

The only non plug and play is the Main Taillight (not listed), due to the issue of blinker/tail the vehicle registers a no bulb I believe. Im going to add the part number now for those that want to install the necessary resistor I believe to get it to work.

This trailer hook up makes installing the led brake/ turn signal leds.there was a post earlier about this install http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-1...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588c55ecbe
Yes, this thread shows the install..http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=17590&highlight=LED+install

Most people want plug and play, hopefully something will come about where an LED will work, but maybe it never will be able to without resistors Im not too sure.

on xd site they have the PUTCO ones for the visor mirrors........i think you missed those....

Haven't taken out the Visor bulb, so Im not sure which LED part number matches up for chrysler part # V26377. I did a quick search for the V26377 but didn't come up with anything. Will have to ask Steve @ XenonDepot soon.

Interior LED questions/advice:

Looks like the stock interior cabin bulbs have a blue tint to the lens. Are you guys doing "white" LED replacements, (other than intentional interior color themes such as the footwells)?

J13ntv, I see where you list 360 degree bulbs, but can/should one use the one-sided LED's in locations that warrant it such as the interior tailgate cargo, rear grab handles, glove box, and maybe exterior license plate?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Oh, and J13ntv, could you stop getting into my wallet, eh?

For the interior I've only ordered the cargo and footwells. Don't think I will replace any of the others, I might not even swap out the footwells if they are too bright, I like the lighting in the Jeep already, but brighter cargo won't hurt, and yes in white.

The license plate and interior cargo listed above are actually T style and not 360. They have the light at the end of the stick and facing down. The interior bulbs I guess are all preference, the bulbs in the car are obviously all 360 as stock, however if people want to experiment with one sided sticks, be my guest! I'd imagine a T stick would also probably work well in the footwells as the light is supposed to shine downward.

Did you do all interior or a mix of exterior/interior? Also which bulb did you go for the footwells, the smaller 194 or the larger OEM replacement of the 921?

#28 ·
Yea take a look you should have two footwell domes that go on when you open doors, turn on interiors etc!

#35 ·
There is one sad part on Led: (Winter) snow does not melts as it build on the lens...talk to truck driver in Canada, they have to kleen there light all the time .... no heat is escaping from the bulb.... :(

#36 ·
The snow shouldn't stick on the rear I don't think at least it doesn't now.. and interior shouldn't be a problem. Good thoughts though!

#38 ·
No? Daytime running lamps..

#41 ·
I've never seen LED bulbs used as replacements as bright or brighter than stock. I find it down right dangerous coming up on people pretty fast with LED tail lights that are "OK" when its dark out, and not noticing much difference between tail light and break light. So are these better, or are they "good enough", honestly?

Whats up? lol

Bump for new users etc

Didn't think anyone would respond. Some want to pretend the LEDs are just as bright behind a lens but when really asked they don't want to respond. The only LEDs that are bright enough are factory.
