Re: Putco LED conversion list

Can someone please post a quick DIY on how to replace the rear grab handle lights? For the life of me, I can not figure out how to gain access to the bulb. Maybe I am just being too gentle with it as I don't want to break any interior trim pieces w/ only 500 miles on the odometer. Thanks in advance!

I'll have to go verify but if I remember correctly they pop out with a little force from a flat head driver on one side which then lets you pull it fully off. Will check when I can in an hour or so

Re: Putco LED conversion list

Does anybody know how to install an LED light bulb in the glove box? The space where the light bulb is housed seems too small to work with. Thanks

Open the door, and the side cover pops off the glove box. Allows you to work with two hands, one from in the glove box and the other through the side panel.

Re: Putco LED conversion list

The only bulbs I'd like to switch to LED's would be tail light/brake light bulb but since there is no plug&play solution there won't be any LED's on mine
Glove box LED's, plate LED's?
Bright reverse LED's makes sense but how often do I reverse (I never look back)

Re: Putco LED conversion list

I want to replace the downlights in the tail gate, the interior ones, what bulbs are they? If anyone has replaced them yet.

Is there a good deal of difference after replacing the front fog lights and front lights with LED?

Id also be interested in seeing more photos and info from those of you who have swapped out the factory fogs for LED lights. I would like them to match my headlights without doing a full HID conversion. Thanks!

Re: Putco LED conversion list

Please keep in mind that installing LED bulbs in your fogs will result in a significant decrease in light output.

Is a simple LED brake light bulb replacement available?

Re: Putco LED conversion list

I found some short 194 LED bulbs on eBay for under $4 that fit great in the overhead console lights and match the other interior Putco bulbs perfectly. The bulbs with 2 rows of lights are too long to fit and the other 194 styles w/ only a single bulb were not bright enough, IMHO. I did not see a Putco equivalent listed on the first page, not to mention these were a lot cheaper, even when compared to Putco bulbs on Amazon! It appears that Jeep already has some type LED in the "map" portion of the lights...just wish they were a bit whiter, but not sure how easily they are changed out.

Re: Putco LED conversion list

Do you really have to remove the interior panel in order to change this?
Description- 194 LED 360 Replacement Bulb
Color- Red
Part Number- 230194R-360
Application- (Liftgate Taillight)
Price- $22.99

And the taillight reverse....? Sounds like a major pain since you have to remove a bunch of stuff per the manual. Can anyone confirm there is no easier way?

Dont have to fully remove, if you pry/pop the plastic tabs along the outer rim of the panel and some on the sides (leaving the top nearest the window intact, you can pull it down enough to get your hands in there to change out the reverse taillights and red brake/running lamps in the tailgate..
