Question about Overland hitch cover (2014)

I see the overland comes with the hitch sticking out on the base model.

Is there a way to cover that up or I have to have it sticking out all the time?

Re: Question about Overland hitch cover (2014)

You need to get a summit if you do not want to see the receiver hitch. Those come with a different rear fascia that includes a removable cover.

The tow package does include a little rubber plug that says "Jeep" on it ... makes it look more finished.

in my experience, the more moving parts the more likely for failure though the idea for that hitch is pretty good..

I don't even tow 70% of what it is rated for. My sisters family uses the HD version to tote around 2-3 horses at a time (maybe 9k lbs with trailer?). It has a lot less moving parts than a plane does but I still get on them
However, it is noisy on rough roads/ trails when there is no trailer.

Re: Question about Overland hitch cover (2014)

I cover my hitch receiver with a hitch... It does two things. Allows me to tow and also prevents damage when people rear end me or bump me when parallel parking. I've been rear ended twice in the past 3 months and both times the hitch saved me. It was stop and go traffic and the person behind me wasn't paying attention. Hitch went through their front bumper and their car didn't get to my paint!
