Real wood trim

My early build 14 limited w Lux II has the fake dark wood trim. Does anyone know the part numbers for the real dark wood trim pieces? Probably costly, but man it looks so much more high end.

Re: Real wood trim

Are you sure? I didn't think Jeep was using any fake wood with the Lux II. They did use some open pore wood that didn't have the typical heavy dose of urethane (plastic). The open pore wood doesn't have a high gloss finish. It is what real wood looks like.

Real wood trim

Trust me...its plastic...the wood grain is painted on ...the dull open pore trim is what I want

Re: Real wood trim

in the grander scheme of things....

the "real wood" as you put it is a veneer a few millimeters thick.

Some have the tendency to delaminate. The trim pieces cost an awful lot of money.

I think the trim is a grass is greener kinda thing. Best place to get it is the salvage yard

Re: Real wood trim

According to the info on WK2jeeps.com, the Limited trim should be Miknasa Walnut. If you have painted trim, maybe you should take that up with Jeep.

As Jeep_addicted said, it is a veneer. If you can't find a trim you like at a reasonable price, you might find a veneer you like at a woodworking supply place. They come adhesive backed. You could get a custom shop to swap the veneers, or possibly do it yourself.
