Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

I've attached a pic of the outline of what i am thinking of to make it look similar the rear of the s-limited CRD. I have some leftover paint from my 2012 Bright Silver metallic Jeep and was was considering having the part in the pic i have outlined painted silver.. or should i have a batch of mineral grey mixed up for it, or should i just leave it the hell alone? lol I know the fascia's are completely different but, i like the look of it. i would also keep the towing black. Just wondering how it would look against maximum steel! input please!

Re: Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

If your plans were to literally just paint that section on yours my vote goes to no don't do it. The reason that other one looks so good is because it's a completely different lower valance. Not only that but you have the trailer hitch which would really clutter things up and you don't want to attract attention to ugly trailer hitches. I really wish Jeep incorporated some sort of decorative cover onto the Laredo/Limited/Overland models with tow package like most other vehicles out there these days. I think it would have really dressed up the rear of the Jeep.

Re: Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

Scooter I have also toyed with the idea of painting that lower section with an accent color too, I don't have the trailer hitch though

THe hitch and hitch trim break the dividing line that is molded in to the valance so I am sure how you would be able to make it look good.

I also saw that some one did just the Middle section to a V8 Overland in dubai there is a video floating around.... they did a custom magnaflow muffler so they played the sound clip in the video.

You should be able to find it either here or just searching for it on youtube.

It is up to you in the end and it may look good depending on what color you use and how you visually frame it out, oh and you could also do the lower front as well

I found the video they painted it mineral grey to match the jeep... i'm wondering if i could have the trailor hitch taken off or is it built into the frame? and just buy a new rear valance

Re: Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

The hitch is removable... it bolts on in place of The bumper bar, so you could swap the parts with a jeep owner that wants the hitch.

Re: Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

Someone on here removed the tow hitch and replaced the rear lower valence with the non-tow one. What would be ideal for you is to get your hands on that S-Limited part. I'd like to just buy an S-Limited...wish Jeep would offer it here.

hahaha I'll find the s-limited part some how and then after i have the exhaust rerouted and the part put in place, Jeep will announce the S-Limited is coming to the US

Re: Rear back lower fascia mod consideration

Scooterha ha you are probably right.... for now the S-Limited is based on the CRD model

So unless Jeep starts putting dual exhaust on the V6 flex fuel model then it would be a V8 only option if they brought it to the US.
