Re: Rear bumper removal

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the four push pin fasteners (3) and 2 screws (2) at the step pad area.

3. Remove the plastic rivets at the wheel wells (1).
4. Remove the two push pin fasteners and remove the rear wheel splash shields.
5. Remove the nuts (1) at the back sides of the quarter panels (2).
6. Remove the fascia (8) and disconnect the electrical connector (6 & 7).
7. Remove the four push pin fasteners and the energy absorber.
8. Disconnect the park assist electrical sensors.
9. Remove the park assist sensors.

The rear is a pain as you MUST remove both rear wheel weels to get it off. and to get them off you need to get the wheel out of the way. so its a pain.

but not big deal to do/ GL

Re: Rear bumper removal

It is getting painted. I am wondering if I should be the one to remove and install the new painted one and pocket the difference.

Just finished installing the hitch on mine. What did you remove the wheels for???
It works perfectly w/o, so I am totally confused why you "had" to!?

Best,
Dark.

I am confident you can do it with out the pdf.

You are gonna need:

10mm socket

13mm socket

Nylon pry tool or small flat blade screw driver

T-30 Torx driver

8mm socket

7mm socket

I forget what size torx you need to remove the heat sheild.

I use a panel removal tool to remove the nylon rivets.

The only trick part is the connection plug that goes to the parking sensor if you have them.

The fender flares should just pop off once you start tugging on them but if they don't you will have to use the small screwdriver to depress the tabs.
