REAR DOOR Enter-N-Go?

Anyone try adding front door handles to the rear doors and splicing them in? They look to be of identical size.

I'm sick of trying to load my kids in first and always reaching to touch that front handle like a goon. People without Enter-N-Go probably think I'm confused, because Im touching one door then immediately opening another.

I seem to recall that this is something you can change via the EVIC settings, but I could be wrong.

EDIT:
looked through the PDF of the owners manual, there is a menu item called "auto unlock doors", I'm thinking you can choose in there if you want just the driver's door or all doors to unlock.

The other option is to walk up to the passenger door and touch that. It unlocks all doors and then load your kids and then walk around to driver's door and get in and go.

I think that JeepJunkie is trying to fit touch handles on the passenger doors.

I have not ventured there but it may be easier to just use the remote to unlock all the doors before geting there. The remote FOB seems to have a decent range.

Re: REAR DOOR Enter-N-Go?

In theory, it should be possible to do what the OP wants to do, but that's a heck of a job.

Aside from the wiring, you'd have to be sure any fuses or relays could handle the extra load of the additional handles. It would be a shame to have your Jeep become dead to the world when 3 or 4 people all reach for separate door handles at once.

What I do is just casually slip my hand in the driver's door handle as I reach for the rear door. It's an easy bit of slight of hand.

Having said that, I'm sure nobody else is paying attention or cares.

I do likewise - quickly wave my hand through a front door to unlock the rears so I can get the kids in. Feels a bit odd
