I'm in the process of converting the chrome on my Limited, and would like a bit of input on the options for the rear badge.

I know there are chrome, black, and the "TrailHawk" badges (silver with red outline), but has anyone else come across an alternative to these 3 options?

Just a heads up, I hate ghetto Plasti-Dip so please don't suggest that.

I think the silver/orange one will only work for cherokees but I'm not sure on that.

Otherwise, the gloss black or plastidip are your only real options, unless you want to sand and paint. I was able to remove my rear jeep badge without the adhesive tape coming off the plate, so they just stuck back on after I painted

Rear "JEEP" badge alternatives?

Rustoleum? Depending on your desire or abilities, any body shop would paint those emblems for 30 bucks or so, I don't know, paint to your liking will make them stand out plasty dip is for toys and I'm so glad it's almost out of fashion. It is a great product with many uses but not as paint.

I will never put a can of Plasti-Dip in my hands, I have 100% faith in my abilities to paint things. I just wasn't sure if there was something out there I may have missed for "custom" badges, but the shape of the rear badges is very specific.

Funny how Plasti-Dip went from it's originally intended use to now being something that people cover their entire car with....it blows my mind why people do this to their cars.

the upshot to not having many options for that particular badge is the level of uniqueness you will get out of painting it, you can get real slick with color or finish. Dip my car started right up the road form here and everyone drank the kool aid. The easy way out is often the road to nowhere.

Yeah, I like those badges too, very cool looking. I'd have a hard time putting one on mine if it wasn't a model year 2016 though. Lucky for you that's what you have.

I found a machined American flag that I may put on the front in place of the JEEP badge.

The rear is the only tough one but I'm sure I'll just end up painting it a charcoal grey to match the SRT reps I'll be getting.

Saw those too, I'm too anal to do something like that with an overlay if you're still going to be able to see the chrome outline once it's on.

I'm sure I'll just go the route of painting the stock badge. I have a few months to decide what I'm going to do though, the cold weather lasts until around April up here.

Never wanted to share this, sorry, but I have a great machinist and he can "scan" and reproduce almost anything, I've always wanted to spend the $250 he quoted to cut the front jeep letters out of 6061, I'm sure the rears would be incredible too. Everybody can buy a sticker my shit's real.

since I couldn't get the altitude with everything blacked out already with a 5.7, i'll be de-chroming my new limited as soon as it comes in also, it sucks there's no option to take all that chrome off and get black if you order the truck. i'm going to have to buy all new parts in black and just have them all color matched to the billet silver at a body shop. the rear jeep badge also. not sure what i'm doing with the window trim & door handles yet.

Yeah, I hear you. Luckily my Jeep is black so for the window trim I am debating a few options. Either SEM Trim Black or DupliColor Shadow...I'm definitely going to give the Shadow paint a try on the door handles since I really don't want to spend $500+, then the cost of install. Thankfully this stuff is "chrome" and not aluminum, Shadow turns out to have an almost green-ish tint to it when you use it over aluminum.

Nice looking RAM...I miss mine (sort of). The flag option was for the front on mine, not the rear.

The problem with the rear JEEP badge is that it's set in to the body panel, so if you replace it with something else you'll be left with that indent surrounding it. The only alternatives are to either fill and paint it (expensive) or just suck it up and customize the badge.

I'm sure Billet Badges could do something for the rear, they seem to be able to make custom badges for just about anything.

My biggest issue is that I really don't like the "murdered" look either. I had planned to get graphite colored wheels and do the window trim, tail light bezels, etc... in the same color. Since then, I have decided to keep my 18" wheels, so now I need to really get a grasp on what I feel will look best.

i'm going to color match everything only because I don't want to have silver, chrome & black going on. going to take off the roof rack also and color match the strips that replace them. i'll figure out the window trim & handles last. might have to just get raped on buying the color matched handles from jeep.
