Removal of chrome side strips. How to?

I am thinking very hard about removing the side chrome strips that have the GC wording and replacing it with the badging of the 2012 SRT-8, being just the GRAND CHEROKEE in chrome. Firstly how difficult is it to remove these strips and what is the best way to go about it?

Has anyone actually done this to their WK2 JGC?

Thanks in advance!

Alas, I can't speak from firsthand experience, as I have yet to take delivery of my WK2. However, I debadged my old RSX many years ago, using nothing more than fishling line (as it's soft and won't damage the the vehicle surface) and a little Goo Gone.

Poking around the threads, I'm sure you'll hear some amazing technique I've never heard of, as there are plenty of folks running clean GC's around here. LOL. A lot of good insight and experience floating around the forums as well...

Did you order your SRT-8 Emblems yet?

Ordered them today from justforjeeps! Unsure how long delivery will take to Australia, hopefully end of next week. Unsure if to wait for them to arrive or just skin them prior. The GC is off to the specialist tomorrow to get wheels done black with satin finish, can't wait to see them on Friday!

Thanks for the tips on removal, sounds pretty straight forward....Cheers

Chrome strips are off, just used fishing line, rolled remainder of tape off with fingers and used same type of product as goo gone to remove excess stickiness then washed...GC lettering currently in transit. Thanks for you help guys...That looks sweet rpoverland:thumbsup:

So I'm ok with removing the chrome strips, but want to know how easy or difficult it is to apply the SRT GC decals?

Thanks
