I have no experience removing it but I'm guessing it's there to prevent paint damage and wear from all the road sand/dirt/gravel kicked up by the front tires.

Re: Removal of protective vinyl on bottom rear doors?

Not sure why you would want to remove it, its there because that is a high prone area from gravel and stones to be picked up and thrown from the front tires. It doesnt look bad and its basically a clear bra installed from the factory. Many cars have this in in that exact area. Unless you have some sort of other plans I just dont see why you would want it removed.

Re: Removal of protective vinyl on bottom rear doors?

Well One of them is stained its barely visible so it kinda bothers me just knowing I cant get it off. Also I have a white altitude and im worried that its going to start staining around the edges of the clear vinyl trim. Also those little pieces of trim arent going to protect much there tiny there almost pointless. I get why they put em there but I really dont see them doing much. So anyone remove em yet?

I've had them removed from vehicles before and never had a problem. if you do it yourself, go slow and and just make sure no paint comes with it

Saw someone with a Stone White that looks like he removed the original ones and put some bigger pieces on. Check member rides and see if you can find him. I'm thinking of doing the same because the city likes to dump a ton of sand here when it snows. Bigger pieces with more coverage would be great.

U taking about the white altitude with it replaced in black? If so he layed it over the clear ones. I want to remove them though.

If you want to remove them use a heat gun to slowly warm the area to soften the glue then peel it off making sure you don't affect the paint.

Those little pieces of vinyl will actually do a whole lot to keep your car free from rock chips in that area.

Took mine off and replaced with ones that came in a kit from Invisiblemask that are much larger. Just get the edge started with your thumbnail and slowly peel it off. Heat it with a hair drier if it is cool out.
