Re: Remove Front plate?

I'm buying a new Summit and it already has the front plate bracket. My state doesn't require front plates...how many holes are there? I've seen Jeeps with three plugs, others with two.

That sucks, I never understood why a dealer would install things like that when it really should be up to the owner...especially like yours which is in a state that doesn't require a front plate. It seems like my dealership where I bought my new Summit only installs plate brackets on more basic vehicles or base models. For example all the Laredos have them installed but they tend to not install them on higher end models such as SRT and Summit.

Unfortunately its hard to say how many holes it will have. Years ago when I bought my new 2012 Overland it had the bracket installed and I assumed it was gonna have two. NOPE..I remove the bracket and to my surprise not two, not four, but SIX F'ing holes and a large scratch from a bolt that wandered a bit when they tried to drill. Who the F do they have install these things? a 5 year old? So hopefully yours is just two holes! lol

My 2014 Overland came with 4 holes. I bought "Bumper Plugs" and really like them. Just make sure you get the "4th gen" as they're a lot thinner and not quite as noticeable.
