Re: removing 2014+ steering wheel

Is the 2014 WK2 equipped with paddle shifters or did you gain that with the steering wheel? I have a 2012 and would love to have paddle shifters. I had the opportunity six months back to pick up an SRT steeling wheel but the dealer was unsure if it could be done.

2014/2015s have paddle shifters.
2014/2015 have different wheels and buttons compared to the 2012.

also i just got my spare SRT wheel, time to experiment. I picked up a used 2015 charger srt wheel. i believe all button modules are the same. The mounting suggests that these are all interchangeable. The only differences might seem to be the heater wiring as they are different on srt vs all other steering wheels.

The 2014 srt steering will not fit the 12. Different airbag!!! you can find a 12 srt with paddle shifters and replace it. The shifters will be there but they will not work bevause your car did not come with them. I had it done on my 12 also and can attest to it.

after matching up some wiring between the different wheels, it appears they use the same pins for heat. I might have a wheel with defective heat. The SRT harness "should" be plug and play, but i need to do some more testing outside.

More looking into this. The SRT Heater wiring comes from GENTHERM, so i would assume has the GENTHERM steering wheel heater.
Time to do some digging into the regular WK2/WD steering wheel heaters.

Both regular WK2/WD and the SRT wiring has a ground, a heated steering wheel signal, return and feed wires. If anyone knows where the controller is, it is possible that it requires replacement.

Re: removing 2014+ steering wheel

now confirming that heated steering wheel will work. Just that my seller sold me a defective wheel. Took me 1.5 months to figure it out. Now going to fight him for my money back. Ebay seller. I swapped in a 2015 charger R/T wheel today, and it worked perfect. All functions and heat. All pins etc are a match for the durango and Jeep SRT.

Re: removing 2014+ steering wheel

Where did you buy the Steering wheel?

Also you have to use srt air bag not regular right?

And does the harness just plug and play or you have to splice?

Re: removing 2014+ steering wheel

swap out wk2 harness for srt harness, no rewiring needed.Just unplug the wk2 harness from the steering wheel/clockspring, and plug in the srt one in its place.

You can use any air bag from the 2014-2015 wk2, srt or durango they are all interchangeable.

no splicing needed
