"Albeit an exceptionally stupid one."

Agreed. Seriously: must us americans be reminded that an airbag may deploy in the event of a crash, and that it is unsafe to drive a vehicle while being drunk? At that, this notice must be colored in yellow and be placed in clear view on a sun visor, as if this would deter someone from knowing that there is an airbag in the dash and/or getting behind the wheel after a liter of vodka? Have we all lost it?! This seems to me like an addition because someone was litigious, and the only way that this could be solved is by putting a giant obnoxious sticker on a cloth area.

...but I digress...

I attempted to take the remaining adhesive off using mineral spirits. It was able to get SOME of the remaining adhesive off, but not ALL.

I will try to find some VM & P Naphtha and report results.

Thank you for the feedback. I need to find a good interior/trim guy in my area, because if all fails, I may ask him to re-cover with leather as well as fix my center arm rest that looks like fried hell.

Re: Removing "airbag warning" sticker

Results from the Naptha: nada. In fact, mineral spirits seemed to chip away at it better; but I do not believe that I will ever be able to get ALL of the adhesive off.

Looks like I may be looking into getting them wrapped in leather, possibly.

As you found out, you won't be able to get all the residue off. It's just the nature of the manufacturing process they use to install that label.

Were you able to get much more off from the picture in the first post? What type of GC do you have? I think the suede material on the summit may be a little different, wonderif it would be harder or easier to work with? Thanks for posting i think i may just have to live with it, i think i would make a mess with that white glue on the black suede. Then i would try to take the visor off to work with it more and i would disturb the wires in the visor and then the jeep would burst into flames that night in my garage and burn my house down. lol that would be my luck on the out come.

Gents, for those willing to spend the money, I am working on sourcing European visors that come without the stickers...Will update thread when I have them in hand.

Re: Removing "airbag warning" sticker

I was able to get it looking a little better, but it still has the residue there and it is obvious for the keen eye to see that something was there.

Regarding what KIND of JGC I have: I have an overland (NON-summit) -- which has a head liner cloth (2011MY), not the suede material.

Can't help but think that it has something to do with law suits. Have you purchased a ladder lately? Sticker city.

I recall a story from a few years ago about two guys using a lawn mower to trim a hedge. One guy dropped it and cut his leg. He sued and won. No where in the manual did it say that you couldn't use it for that purpose.

But I get what your saying. Crazy world.

Cheers
